Joe climbs into the attic himself — and tells you everything he finds up there.

Insulation, renovations, electrical, smart home and hauling — one insured crew for the whole list across Baltimore, Washington and Annapolis. That's real footage from Joe's jobs playing behind this text, not stock.

Why homeowners keep calling Joe

The guy who tells you about the problem he doesn't get paid to fix.

Joe's has operated under the same values for over 15 years: exceed what the client actually needs. That means the attic gets a full look — insulation, air leaks, HVAC, roof deck — and you get told everything, even the parts we don't do.

Behind the photos

Every picture here is a job, and every job has a story.

No stock crews in matching polos. These are Joe's actual jobs across Bowleys Quarters, Middle River, Essex, Towson and Baltimore County — told the way they happened.

The quote that found two other problems

Joe went up for insulation. He came down with a roof leak.

Benjamin called for attic insulation quotes and got the usual: a guy with a flashlight, thirty seconds, a number. Joe went all the way in. He came back down with photos of HVAC ducts bleeding conditioned air into the attic and a roof leak nobody had mentioned — neither of which Joe does. He told them anyway, gave them names, and quoted the insulation at about the same price as everyone else. That's the whole business model.

Bowleys Quarters bathroom

Pink tile, a rusted tub and a floor you didn't want to stand on.

This bathroom hadn't been touched since the Johnson administration. Demo came out first — tile, sink, subfloor, all of it. Then the part most contractors skip: every finished surface got masked and taped before the next trade walked in, so the new tub and marble-look porcelain came out of the job as clean as they went in. The homeowner walked into a room they didn't recognize.

Service panel & HVAC

The stuff behind the wall is the stuff that matters.

A meter base held together by three decades of weather, and a condenser that had been limping for two summers. Joe's crew pulled the mast, set a new panel, re-landed the service drop, then went around back and got the AC breathing again. No drama, no upsell, no second contractor to schedule — because the same crew is licensed to touch both.

Home entertainment

A 75-inch screen, three in-wall speakers, and not one visible cable.

Anybody can hang a bracket. The reason this one looks right is what's behind the drywall: power fished to the mount, HDMI run inside the wall, three flush speaker grilles cut and set level with each other, and a single low-voltage plate to feed it all. Two hours later the living room looks like the TV grew there.

Basement rebuild

The ping-pong table stayed. Everything under it went.

Old carpet and pad hauled out, the slab cleaned and leveled, walls patched and painted, shelving mounted dead level, and the whole mess hauled away in the truck the same afternoon. Hauling is part of the job here — no dumpster rental, no pile at the curb waiting on bulk-trash day.

Pool equipment pad

A sanitizer, a salt cell, and plumbing you could frame.

The old pad was a spaghetti bowl of flex hose and leaking unions. We reset it around a HydraPure UV/ozone sanitizer and a Hayward TurboCell, with hard PVC, true unions at every piece of equipment and valves you can actually reach. When something needs service in five years, it'll take minutes instead of a saw.

406 Bowleys Quarters · attic remediation

He shows up looking like this — because your air comes from up there.

Full Tyvek coverall, P100 respirator, boot covers at the threshold, and a vacuum hose run out the front door instead of through your living room. Thirty years of dust, shredded vapor barrier and rodent-fouled batting came out of this attic before one bag of new insulation went in. Homeowners always say the same thing when they see the after photo: they had no idea what was over their heads.

What Joe finds up there

Ducts, wires and a hose: the part of the job you never see.

Before anything gets blown, the attic gets walked. Flex duct re-taped and supported so it isn't dumping cold air into the rafters, junction boxes checked, bath fans confirmed to actually vent outside, and the fill hose staged so the crew never has to drag it across finished ceilings. This is the hour that decides whether your insulation actually saves you money — and it's the hour most quotes skip.

Outside the house too

A bow window, a wall down to sheathing, and a door worth a photo.

Handyman work at Joe's doesn't stop at the door casing. This one went from siding removal and Thermo-ply sheathing around a new bow window to a deep green front door cut in by hand, and a flush LED fixture set in the bath on the way out — three trades, one visit, one invoice. Drop cloths down before the first brush stroke, ladders off your lawn before dark.

Essex row home · kitchen + hallway

A galley kitchen that finally works like a kitchen.

Narrow room, one window, thirty-year-old cabinets. Instead of moving walls we moved the work: white shakers to the ceiling, quartz that wraps into a breakfast bar, a glass mosaic backsplash, and the same plank flooring carried unbroken from the kitchen down the hall so the whole floor reads as one room. Three pendants over the bar, a flush ceiling fixture for real light, and every appliance re-landed the same day so the family never lost their stove.

Middle River · basement finish

The basement stopped being storage and became a floor of the house.

It started as a damp slab, a bare bulb and a laundry corner nobody wanted to walk into. We ran large-format porcelain over the whole slab, boxed and painted the support column, hung and finished drywall, dropped in recessed cans on two circuits, and repainted the stair treads so the trip down doesn't feel like a trip to the cellar. The mechanical room is still a mechanical room — just a clean, lit, framed one.

The room nobody photographs

Panel, ducts, laundry: the honest picture of where we start.

Most contractors only show you the after. This is a real before — joists open, ducts patched with three generations of tape, a panel with no cover, and a washer-dryer pair sitting on a stained slab. Joe photographs it, walks you through it on your phone, and prices it in writing before anything gets touched. Nothing in the estimate is a surprise later, because you saw the same picture we did.

Bowleys Quarters · attic top-up

Four hours in a 130° attic so your living room hits 70°.

This is Joe at hour four: headlamp on, respirator sealed, hair full of fiberglass, working a hose between trusses on his knees. The machine sits in the driveway, the hose runs out a gable vent, and the crew walks every bay so the depth is even instead of piled where the hatch is. Nobody photographs this part. We do — because the difference between a good insulation job and a cheap one is entirely in the hours nobody sees.

Perry Hall · exterior day

Green shutters, a bow window and a ladder off your lawn by dark.

A brick front that hadn't been touched in fifteen years: shutters cut in deep green, the entry door painted to match, glass cleaned and the whole front walked for caulk failures while the ladder was already up. Joe finishes exterior days by clearing the lawn, folding the drop cloths and knocking to show you the work before he leaves — the neighbors noticed this one before the homeowner got home.

No. Free, no-obligation estimates on insulation and handyman work. Text a photo of the problem to (443) 800-5637 and we can often ballpark it before we ever drive out.

Yes — insured for $1,000,000 for your protection. That's on the truck for a reason.

We tell you about it and point you at the right person, even when there's nothing in it for us. That's how we'd want to be treated if it were our house — and it's the reason most of our reviews read the way they do.

One TV mount, one leaky valve, one shelf. No load is too big or too small, and we'd rather earn the small job now than miss the big one later.
